so basically how it works is that the magician
has a hat ( im assuming you are using a hat for this) and a dove
Note-the dove is underneath the table (should be in a cage , unlocked)
there should also be a black cloth uneath the table too.

while the audiance is mezmerized at fact of bringing the dove out of a hat ( i know this is kind of for rabbits but. . .)
you need to grab the black cloth with the dove , concealed from the audience’s view
and put it in the hat.
say some magic words ( used for special effect , also to buy time, if needed)
and bring the dove out of the hat
, also magicians practice alot to make this right
but thats basically the ground basics -need to know for this trick kinda thing
for this trick.- this trick can also be used with just a black cloth too , but thats a bit more complicated.
Side note- the reason they chose doves ( and also rabbits) was because they were the animals with least movement
when being held
