Why ask them for permission? Don’t you lead your own FREE life to do as you please? Stop being a slave to your religion.

    News to me.

However, do all the magic tricks you want.

Play with matches, too, if you want, but don’t come howling to me if you burn your fingers. Actually dabbling in magic doesn’t seem to be the best idea in the world to me.

And fortunately I do not demand that a man be perfect before I will respect him or hear what he has to say.

You mean like sticking your head into a hat and getting answers from a salamander? Or like claiming to see God and Jesus, when the bible says NO MAN has seen God at any time? Sure, go ahead.

Sir: You have a serious problem and I feel that you may not be aware of it. In your profile you mention that you are “a true believer and Ambassaodr [sic] of Christ . . . listen to or read the KJV Holy Bible. Pray to God. Search for light and truth.” That makes you sound to be a god-fearing Christian, but the majority of your “questions” and comments that you post are completely contrary to such a claim.

I have read the Bible (KJV) that you claim to espouse and I have never read anywhere in the book that admonishes the followers of Christ to be such a religious bigot, filled with hatred, or a mocker of others.

Is asking if it is okay for you to do magic tricks REALLY seeking for the light and truth that you suggest that others look for? You may want to seek professional council to help you with your delusions of grandeur and dementia.

Here’s hoping for better times ahead for you.

isn’t it strange that if they had the internet int he 80’s I would call myself the celestial kingdom and be defending the mormon/LDS religion.

Here’s the stories, you are referring to, and more…http://www.realmormonhistory.com/newpage13.htm#Brigham%20Young%20told%20how%20in%201841%20Joseph%20Smith%20exibited%20his%20seer%20stone%20to%20some%20followers%20and%20taught%20that%20every%20man%20is%20entitled%20to%20a%20seer%20stone:

    ALL there with references.

In1879, Emma, widow of Joseph Smith, described the process of translating the golden platesthus:

“In writing for your father I frequently wrote day after day, oftensitting at the table close by him, he sitting with his face buried in his hat, with thestone in it, and dictating hour after hour with nothing between us”
(Emma Bidamon Smith interview, 1879, available in Vogel,Early Mormon Documents, Volume 1, p. 541)
