where can i find out how to do extremely complicated magic tricks?

i want to do stuff like make fire come out of my palm, and levetating heavy things like cabinets and cars.

    Magic doesn’t have to be complicated to be awesome. Remember that knowing how to do something doesn’t make it magical to the audience. That’s all in presentation. Many of the tricks that professional magicians do on stage are just big versions of tricks that you may already know. Of course, some things can only be done close up. Some things can only be done on stage. Some things can only be done on t.v.

    If you want to learn more magic, I suggest books. For those looking to learn a variety of kinds of magic, I suggest:

    Mark Wilson’s Complete Course in Magic. This book is excellent for beginners. It’s also a resource that most professionals I know use. It explains each trick by explaining first what the audience sees. If there is any special set-up ahead of time, that’s explained. Then there are step by step instructions. Each instruction has a picture to go with it. Some tricks include special advice or comments from Mark Wilson who has spent over 60 years as a professional magician. The book includes tricks using cards, coins, ropes, hankerchiefs, rubber bands, and other everyday objects. There is also a section on building your own stage illusions.

    Harlan Tarbell’s Course in Magic is 8 volumes of material that was originally sent out as a mail order course for youngsters. This includes a little bit of just about every kind of magic.

    The books above will help you to develop the tools to do all kinds of tricks. Once you have those tools, you’ll be able to think about the things you want to do and figure out a way to do them with the tools you have. I have friends who create the same illusions I do in an entirely different way. That’s because we have different skills and different ways to approach the same idea.
